Trip Description

Stow on the Wold, a place surrounded by town houses, independent shops, antique centres, cafes and inns. Built in mellow local stone with medieval market stocks standing at one end, a ancient market cross at the other and the impressive St Edwards Hall standing in the centre.

Sezincote House, located down an oak lined driveway within a 3,500 acre estate. An impressive 200 year old Mogul Indian palace, set in a landscape of temples, grottos, waterfalls and canals reminiscent of the Taj Mahal. The garden has a series of spring-fed pools which eventually drops into the Island Pool in the valley bottom, before joining the River Evenlode below.

PLEASE NOTE: Most of the garden is on a slope with steep banks and gravel paths with some difficulty for wheelchairs. There is no access to the upstairs of the house for wheelchairs users but there are photos and books to view.
Limited refreshments available in The Orangery Tearoom
Price includes entry and 30 minute guided tour of the house.
